Tasked with maintaining our server, network and database environments, your main challenge will be to ensure that all systems and services are available at all times, both to internal and external customers. An environment where open discussion is positively encouraged in order to achieve the highest levels of success, you’ll take full responsibility for backup and recovery, database build from XML feeds and content integrity from day one. Day-to-day maintenance protection, upkeep of the hosted environment and the development of database stored procedures – all are key aspects of a vital role that will have a profound impact on the success of our business.
Educated to degree standard or with equivalent formal programming training qualifications and relevant experience under your belt, you also have a good knowledge of Linux/Apache and Windows/IIS operating system environments. Familiarity with relational databases, with an emphasis on MYSQL and SQL Server is also key, whilst any knowledge of database programming through stored procedures would be an advantage. A part autonomous, part collaborative technical decision making role at the heart of a small team, last but not least, you’ll need the interpersonal skills it takes to provide comprehensive support to technical and commercial colleagues alike.
