Vacancy: Pre-Sales Manager
Reporting to the VP Sales, the Pre-Sales Manager role will be based at our modern office by the river in Kingston-upon-Thames.
With frequent travel required outside the UK, the applicant must have the right to work permanently in the UK, and will preferably be a holder of a UK or EU passport.
With a competitive salary and attractive bonus scheme, you will act as technical bid manager and deliver technical support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle – liaising closely with the technical team. You will be responsible for pre-sales support in the acquisition of new customers and the development of the existing customer base; including involvement in or ownership of the following:
- Customer needs analysis
- Solution architectures
- Functionality specifications
- Technical design specifications
- Securing hardware supply
- Preparing Presentations
- Managing the response to RFPs
- Contributing to Proposals
You will have a university degree – preferably BSc (2:1 minimum from a reputable Tier 1/2 institution) ideally in technical / IT related subject. Foreign languages a plus – especially Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Mandarin.
With a minimum of 5 years in a similar role in a vendor organisation supplying technology (preferably software) solutions to Mobile Network Operators, you will have previous experience as product manager, business analyst, solution architect or similar role where you were required to explore and document end user requirements and have in depth technical architectural knowledge of software solutions.
You must be accustomed to working with and through channel partners.
Ideally, you will already understand the architecture of the Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core Network – and understand the complexities of integration projects. This will enable them to configure our solutions within the parameters of a customer installation.
You will be able to demonstrate deep technical understanding of your current products, to give us confidence that you will be able to grasp the intricacies of ours.
Experience in working with customers on identifying business value as part of pre-sales engagement is important. Not just selling functionality.
Experience in building and owning customer technical relationships and positioning their company as a trusted advisor within their specific technical domain.
You will have experience and skill in interpreting RFP documentation and have the capability to construct questions to help potential customers understand that their true requirements are in line with our technical offerings.
You are structured, logical and organised. Experienced in working on the implementation and deployment of a software product – ideally for Mobile Network Operators
You have excellent presentation skills – comfortable dealing with clients, explaining technology solutions, white board descriptions, formal presentations, negotiating changes etc.
Experienced in working and managing technical team members in order to secure their input to documentation, when these technical staff do not report to you.
Experienced in a transversal role, where you need to maintain technical knowledge whilst operating in a sales/marketing led environment. This has enabled you to retain the respect of both sides of the business.
Last but not least, you have an eye for detail, with a “can do” attitude and the ability to ‘get the job done.
